Chinks are a similar to chaps but differ in their length. Chinks are for work while chaps are mostly used for horse back riding, motorcycle riding, and fashion. Either term can be used for chinks although chinks is more specific and appropriate. They reach about mid shin as opposed to chaps that go a bit lower than the ankle/heel. By the users preference they can be loose fitted for mobility or closer fitting for security.
This pattern is to be used with a belt and is detachable. Usually chaps/chinks rest below the belt loops on the users pants. These will be lined although you can chose not to line them. In which case I'd recommend using a synthetic material that does not fray.
Materials needed:
- A synthetic pleather
- Thread matching your material, or contrasting if that is your preference
- A belt of your choice
Optional:
- Lining fabric (synthetic material recommended)
- 2 zippers (metal recommended)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Measurements needed:
- Below waist where belt sits to mid shin
- Around thigh where you wish the dip to be
- Around knee
- Around mid shin
Additional notes:
These are a plain pattern that can be embellished or added onto as the user pleases. It is advised that you use your own measurements for a better fit but you can also go off of these measurements and make adjustments.
